Released in October 2025, Roasted 2.0 was the next evolution of Guiben Honey, one of our favourite coffees to explore after welcoming our Stronghold S9X earlier that year. This release revisited the same coffee through a new roast profile, while staying true to the work of Farm Manager TianCai.
At the time, Beau was continuing to experiment with different coffees and roasting approaches alongside our regular production. One of those experiments became Roasted 2.0.
The cup had more nuance, balance and flavour clarity, while sacrificing a little body and mouthfeel compared to the regular Guiben profile.

THE IDEA BEHIND ROASTED
Roasted is our ongoing experiment in answering a simple question: How much can roasting alone change a coffee?
Instead of changing the origin, processing method or producer, we keep the coffee the same and explore what happens when we change only the roast profile. Sometimes the differences are subtle. Sometimes they're surprisingly dramatic.
Each Roasted release is the result of countless production batches, cuppings and conversations around the table. Some profiles stay behind in the workshop. Others earn a place on the shelf.

He focused on airflow. Instead of gradually reducing heat throughout the roast, he increased airflow during the first two-thirds to better manage the ambient heat inside the roaster.
That approach extended the roast time compared to our regular Guiben profile and resulted in a cup with more nuance, balance and flavour clarity, while sacrificing a little body and mouthfeel.
