Location: Yunnan, China
Elevation: 1 600 m
Tasting notes: purple grape, red apple, molasses, black tea
We are so excited and proud to be launching what may very well be the first specialty Chinese coffee roasted in Canada! Yunnan coffee traders and one of their partner farm called Lijiang offers this stunning coffee. This is a father-son operation that’s been going on for 10+ years and are the benchmark for quality coffee in the region.
This washed coffee offers notes of purple grape, red apple, molasses and black tea, with hints of dried fruit. It is very sweet with high body. The varietal is Catimor, a hybrid between Caturra and Timor, not usually associated with high quality coffee. The unique soil of the Menglien region gives a very complex version of the variety, while keeping high yields and the disease resistant properties.
